This extravagant bronze figurine represents the grotesque god Bes. He is shown wearing a variation on the atef crown, comprising feathers, solar disks, cobras, and ram’s horns. He has two pairs of arms, one of which serves to hold up two pairs of wings. His phallus has animal ears. Menacing cobras are on his crown, in all his hands, and sprouting from both his knees. This exuberant design is usually found in items from the Ptolemaic Dynasty.
