The main body of this glass bracelet is made from a coil of opaque purple or green glass of hemispherical cross section. This was decorated with crumbs of yellow, coral, green, blue, and white opaque glass. Most of the crumbs stand proud of the surface, although some were fused into the body, probably unintentionally. Eastern Mediterranean, pre-Ottoman Islamic period.

“Decoration by crumbs appears to have been especially popular on the local Islamic bracelets, found in both Umayyad and Mamluk levels at Khirbet el-Minyeh. This kind of ornamentation was used later, as well, but any later pieces examined were of inferior workmanship” (Spaer 2001:202).
