This glass bracelet started with a loop of very dark, practically black colored glass. Then, its maker applied alternating narrow trails of opaque white glass, and wider trails of yellow and white. These were marvered flat. Then, he applied two longitudinal threads of bright green opaque glass, which he let stand proud of the surface. The triangular section is indicative of a late Ottoman period origin (17th to 20th century) in the Eastern Mediterranean region (Spaer 2001:195).
Inside are two perfectly parallel longitudinal grooves, indicating the shape was obtained by the seamless centrifugal method (Spaer 2001:193). Tightly bonded to the inside is garnet red material with inclusions of vegetal material (wood, twigs?). These are most probably remains of release agents that coated the rod.
