This bracelet was fashioned out of opaque red glass of hemispherical cross section. The material is darkened in areas, with an effect resembling a burn mark. While the outside is highly polished, the inside has longitudinal striations. Eastern Mediterranean, Ottoman Period.
Seamless bracelets were made by picking up glass on a rod (by furnace winding) and . . . centrifugally rotating it until the desired ring form was obtained. The inner surface of such bracelets are always flat and usually show longitudinal streaks (Spaer 2001:193).
