This red and green patina bronze shows Nekhbet, the vulture goddess of Nekheb (el-Kab). This may have been the finial of a staff. The style is generally indicative of Dynasty 18.
“Nekhbet, the vulture goddess of Nekheb, was the tutelary goddess of Egyptian kings (together with the cobra goddess Wadjit of Lower Egypt) and regarded as the Upper Egyptian goddess par excellence” (Baines and Malek, 2000:80).
