This unusual face bead of undetermined, origin, time period and fabrication present four stylized faces around the bead center.

The core bead is a slightly flattened sphere in what now appears as opaque cream colored glass. The top and bottom of the beads are coated in an opaque red material. The sides of the bead are defined by two circular trails in translucent blue material. Between these two blue lines, the sides are coated in opaque yellow material. The almost perfectly spherical faces are opaque cream. Their simplified features are drawn as short straight lines in translucent blue. The eyebrows are distinct from each other. Each face is slightly different.

Upon cursory examination, this item could be construed as being painted, but close examination under a microscope shows thick edges on materials indicative of fusing of the color onto the substrate and a translucence in the blues that is more consistent with glass or enamel.
